Mr. Evans studied piano with Dr. Elaine Walters from age six through high school. At age 13, Kyle made his orchestral debut, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 with the Houston North Symphony. He continued his studies with Robert Laughlin at Oklahoma City University where he received his Bachelor of Music degree and was winner of the schools concerto competition. Most recently he received his Master of Music degree from Rice University in solo and collaborative music as a student of Brian Connelly.
Kyle is active in Houston as a pianist, organist and accompanist. He works with students at H.S.P.V.A, St. Agnes and Strake Jesuit. He is a facilitator for Screening America at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and accompanies silent films. A supporter of composers and new music, Kyle frequently performs and records for many of the composers at the Shepherd School of Music and the Houston area. He performed in the 2006 SCI composers convention with Brian Connelly and was was recently featured on the Pipe Dreams series at The Centrum.
